dreamDreams are as individual as all of us out there in the wild blue yonder.  Naturally, then, every person will have his or her own idea of a dream car.

Now, maybe I have a little bit of an anthropological bent, but I have to admit that I find it intensely interesting to think about how people choose their own dream cars.

What criteria goes into defining a dream car for you folks out there, for instance?  Is it all about design aesthetics?  Does speed factor into the equation?

Perhaps you are faithful to one single brand of vehicles, mad for Ford or Volkswagen or Peugeot.  Maybe you are batty for European cars, jazzed for Japanese models, or perhaps you adore American brands.

You might be in love with vehicles of a bygone day, or maybe you are mad about more modern models.  Tell, people!  Reveal your dreams on four wheels!

Yes Roadster 3.2Trust me, folks.  After you take a good, long look at this magnificent piece of German craftsmanship, you are going to be saying yes, yes, yes as well.  To what?  To the Yes! Roadster 3.2, the sleek, smooth, sexy baby and Funke & Will, a German brand known for making absolutely scrumptious, specialty sports cars.

And this is definitely a specialty.  I am in love with this car.  I mean, I am an enormous fan of German engineering anyway, but I have never heard of Funke & Will before.  I have only been familiar with the big name automakers and the most popular brands.

Seeing this roadster really makes me regret that, because it is a piece of work that deserves a lot of publicity.

Who doesn’t like a good Lamborghini Gallardo every once in a while? Well, I do – and so does poker genius and Duke University graduate Vanessa “Lady Maverick” Rousso – one of the most succesful women in poker of all time, and PokerStars professional.

Vanessa had a great 2009 both in poker and in her personal life with Chad Brown – and in this Gallardo – I’m sure she’ll have an even more amazing 2010!

    2010_naias_hybrid_concept-1260809614

We all know that Toyota is definitely the top dog right now.  The Pruis is a car that is definitely pulling rank more than any car in the world right now, however — Toyota is just releasing some incredible pictures of their brand new concept car that is going to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show next month.

This all new gas/electric hybrid is going to not only look awesome but it is going to be a brand new vehicle entirely.  Judging alone by the two teaser photos, I can honestly say that this particular car is not something that I would have expected from Toyota, nor would I have expected nothing less than a surprise.

Toyota is a constant surprise and this just proves it.  No details on this concept car just yet but soon enough!

SAIC Roewe N1 conceptThe SAIC Roewe N1 concept is the flagship domestic brand for SAIC — the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation. It recently gave up some teaser images of the new N1 concept, just before the car was officially unveiled at the auto show in Shanghai.

The N1 is, of course, labeled as a concept car. However, insiders within SAIC have been hinting heavily that this sleek machine is ultimately bound for the production line. Those same insiders anticipate that the N1 will go on sale late this year or early in 2010.

If the car has made it to production, one of two surprisingly compact engines will be available to power it: either a 1.3 liter engine or a 1.5 liter four cylinder engine.

Triumph and TAG Heuer honor Steve McQueen with special BonnevilleThere are two huge names in the way of motorcycles: Triumph and TAG Heuer.  These two huge names have finally come together to create a bike that is so beautiful, so perfect and it was actually inspired by Steve McQueen and the Porsche 917 K.  This bike is a Bonneville Heuer and it is actually painted up in the classic way and runs awesome.

Now, this particular bike is all about the paint job as well as the overall style of this particular bike.  Another great thing about it is the classic style.  I think that the Triumph and TAG Heuer companies did fantastic … all around in constructing this bike and keeping it simple.

Simple is always better and when you think of Triumph and TAG Heuer – simple is usually the last thing that you think about.

Maserati GS ZagatoI don’t know that you could really classify the Maserati GS Zagato as a road dog, given the fact that it looks like it purrs. It looks like it purrs in the predatory, slightly menacing way of a low slung jungle cat, ready to pounce and draw blood.

And I don’t know about you, but that is most definitely how I like my cars.

I love everything about this car. Well, naturally, in the first place, it is a Maserati, after all, and who can really resist a Maserati?

Paolo Boffi, an entrepreneur of some note, commissioned the Maserati GS Zagato, and all I can say is, what a lucky, lucky guy.

It got its debut at the Villa d’Este in Italy, during the Concours d’Elegance some time ago.

    Suzusho Supasse-V

Now that we have talked a little bit about some sports cars in past blogs – let’s go ahead and explore this amazing concept sports car!  The Suzusho Supasse-V is the brand new car on the market and it is actually one that looks really, really sweet up close and personal.

To me – the greatest thing about this particular car is the fact that it is so lightweight and so beautiful looking.  The body itself was actually inspired by a Le Mans and it is stuffed to the max with a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-4 engine.

This car – while it might look like a kit car, it is actually going to be pretty cool once it hits the markets, but right now, it is actually just a concept car.

Ferrari 599 HGTE China Limited Edition

What is the first thing that you think about when you think about Ferrari?  For me, it is all about the beautiful exotic feel of this particular car, however – I have to say that the new Ferrari 599 HGTE China Limited Edition is actually pretty cool.  I did not think that an Italian automaker would come up with a China Limited Edition anything, but Ferrari has out-done themselves.

This is actually based on the 599 GTB Fiorano with the company’s brand new handling GTE package.  The brand new Ferrari 599 HGTE China Limited Edition is also jam-packed with unique and different things, including the start button glowing a jade green and the tachometer features ancient Chinese characters.

If you are looking for something – a present for someone who loves everything China – the Ferrari 599 HGTE China Limited Edition is the car for them!

Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling MossSo … wow.  I mean, just … wow. Give me a minute, I need to get my thoughts together.  Actually, that’s a lie.  My eyes just keep getting drawn back to this car.  As the title points out, this is, of course, the Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss.  Then again, giving it a name does not really clear up anything insofar as the car itself goes, because this thing is … wow.

This is the kind of car you expect to see in a science fiction action movie with a completely unlimited budget, you know what I’m saying? It’s like an update to the DeLorean time machine.

It’s a limited edition, with only seventy five models scheduled to be available — and only to those who currently own the SLR supercar.

It’s a V8 coupe, made specifically to commemorate Stirling Moss, a legend of British motor racing, and his numerous victories.

If you didn’t notice this, the car completely lacks a windshield.
