Chrysler released the news this month that the Dodge Viper has attracted three bidders so far—apparently not just because of the car’s speed.

Dodge Viper bidders are also interested in the entire Viper business unit: meaning the bidders are thinking of purchasing the work force and the Detroit factory as well. Despite the enthusiasm of bidders though, no sale is likely to happen until March 31, 2009.

Chrysler has yet to submit a restructuring plan by February 17 before it can conduct any further sales. The company is weighing its options right now with the offers for their V10 Viper.

Chrysler also denounces and rumors of bankruptcy. Executives close the liquidation of the Viper operations as a means to let the company move forward.

The company’s Vice Chairman Jim Press said that the money being spent on the Viper operations can be better allocated to other Chrysler core products. A total of 127 Dodge Viper Cars were sold last January alone, which is a 74% rise compared to last year’s sales.

Chrysler announced a $1.45 billion loss last February 14, 2007, which has sent the company thinking up of new schemes to resuscitate its operations. Drastic drops in car sales were also experienced by Chrysler’s rival companies late last year.

Ford and General Motors, two car manufacturers and dealers which have been constantly at par with Chrysler, also suffered from significant 47-50% drops last year.

Chrysler can still survive this recent credit crunch once their other core products sell.

The Michigan auto companies include the Arrow Racing Engines, Cyltec, Control-Tec and the Power-Tec Engineering. They purchased Saleen’s high-performance array of vehicles, superchargers and aftermarket business last January 30.

Chrysler has been considering the selling to market of all its Viper luxury cars since the year 2008. Jim Press, the car manufacturer’s copresident declared that they are currently studying the three proposals.

The Viper venture is considered to include in its list the industrial unit located in Detroit, the employees and the vehicles itself.

The Dodge Viper is a V10 powered sports car and was created by the Dodge division of Chrysler LLC. The manufacture of the two-seat sports car started at the New Mack Assembly in 1992 and was transferred to its present location at Corner Avenue Assembly in October 1995. It has made its known appearances on video games, movies, music videos and TV shows. All types of this Viper bear the uniform six-speed manual transmission set-up. The 2009 Dodge Viper also ranked 6 out of 7 Super Luxury sports Cars.

Chrysler spokesman David Elshoff said he will not disclose the names of the three potential bidders. But for some of the aspirants to purchase the Dodge Viper industries, they may change their plans if the global economic situation worsened.
