Even firms like Italdesign cannot veer away from the mindset that has ruled big car manufacturers like the Volkswagen Group, SUV production. The Italian design firm, which is actually under the Volkswagen umbrella since 2010, debuts two high-performane crossover concepts depending on engines by Lamborghini.
The Italdesign concepts are named after Parcour, a modern sport that’s all about conquering urban obstacles. The design company developed a roadster and a coupe version of the Parcour concept that blends elements of sports cars and crossovers. The look can easily fool anyone and say that they are new Lambos but not.
Both vehicles will have enough space to accommodate two individuals and comes equipped with a Lamborghini-sourced V10 powerplant with a displacement of 5.2 liters that roars 542 horses. The Gallardo engine is linked to a seven-speed automatic gearbox with a dual clutch system that directs the power to the four wheels of the vehicle.
The Parcour is measured at 4,530mm in length, 2,070mm in width, and 1,335 in height. The concepts tip the scale at 3,417 pounds.
According to the car manufacturer, the car can go from 0 to 100 in just 3.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 320 kilometers an hour.Tags: Italdesign, Lamborghini, Parcour Concepts, SUV, Volkswagen Group

Subaru fans in the United Kingdom might shed some tears as the company imports its last Impreza. The reason for this is very simple, the UK market has stopped buying the Imprezas. The fan base has diminished significantly and the car is quite uncompetitive in terms of CO2 emission. In short, the car is very tough to sell. The brand will focus on marketing its SUVs and the Subaru BRZ for car performance buyers.
The performance of the Subaru Imreza WRX S may sound very good on paper when you consider its 300 horses and a 5.2 second sprint from 0 to 60 miles an hour. This ride though cannot keep up with the new generation of hatchbacks like the more potent BMW M 135i, which even costs cheaper by three thousand quids.
Subaru first gained fans in the UK when Colin McRae used a Legacy WRC developed by Prodrive back in 1992. The WRC Impreza hit the UK shores in 1993 and this sealed the fate of the Impreza Turbo that came in 1994. The Impreza Turbo came with a 208-bhp engine that was well-loved by the UK market. The Impreza WRX that was rolled out in 2000 also did not have any problem when it reached the Brits.
The good reception of the Subaru brand has fired up a steady stream of special editions from Japan and has started a good battle with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution that first came out in 1992.
It has been an enduring run for the Subaru Impreza but sadly its reign will end soon.Tags: Impreza, Subaru Cars, Subaru Impreza

During the recent SEMA show, tuned cars have made some buzz including a fleet of Beetle from Volkswagen. The carmaker assembled the bunch from chosen suppliers and customizers. The VW Beetles have different modifications from crazy upgrades to subtle improvements.
The Beetle developed by APR, a performance tuning specialist was the highlight of the batch. It was based on the 2013 VW Beetle Turbo. The engineers of the tuning firm added an intercooler system, upgraded the intake and cylinder heads, installed a new so the car can handle the extra boost supplied by its turbo system. The ECU of the car was also revised to make sure everything runs smoothly.
The power of the engine is transferred to all of the four wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox equipped with a short-throw shifter and a heavy duty clutch. The AWD setup is from the 4MOTION system of Volkswagen that was borrowed from a Golf R.
Other upgrades done by the tuner includes a brake system using six-piston calipers, an adjustable coil-over H&R suspension, 19-inch rims, and a customized kit for the body. The blue wrap in matte from Oracal completes the look of the car.
Aside from the VW Beetle prepared by the APR, the onslaught of the brand continues at SEMA with four other Beetles and a high performance VW Golf R.
The German car manufacturer also picked cars developed by Galpin Auto Sports, European Car Magazine, and FMS Automotive.Tags: SEMA 2012, Volkswagen Beetle, VW Beetle turbo

if you are looking for an SUV that offers a lot more than the usual, make sure you checkout the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. It has an engine that gives out 470 horses enabling it to spring from 0 to 60 in just 4.8 seconds. The Grand Cherokee SRT8 can reach a top speed of 160 mph and is a formidable competition of the ML63 AMG and the X5 M. The advantage of the Jeep though is a sticker price that does not put a big hole on your wallet.
For the new model year, aside from the two special edition packages the Grand Cherokee SRT8 also receives other upgrades. While the HEMI V-8 powerplant cranks out 470 horse and a torque of 465 pound-feet, this SUV also gets an interior upgrade. Bentley recently released a special version of the Mulsanne during the motor show in Beijing to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II who is celebrating her Diamond Jubilee as head of the British monarchy.
The Diamond Jubilee is the celebration of the 60th anniversary since the member of the Royal Family took over the thrown. In observance of this, the luxury car manufacturer Bentley will also limit the special Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition to just 60 units. The team which will assemble this limited release of the Bentley Mulsanne will be the same team who worked on the State Limousine that was presented to Queen Elizabeth II back in 2002.
If you are planning to purchase one of these Mulsannes, Bentley assures you that you will feel like a royalty riding it as the vehicle boasts of handcrafted and exquisite features in honor of the Queen’s Jubilee. Some of the luxurious touches include the headrests embroidered with gold stitches and picnic table with gold overlay just like in the royal carriage of the queen.
The Diamond Jubilee Edition of the Mulsanne also features a range of hide colors from shades of red, blue, and white that depics the Union flag and distinguish it from the other Bentleys. The fine lines also use the same colors and are hand applied. Each D-pillar also gets the Bentley badges.

German car manufacturer BMW recently revealed the details about its new M6 which rolls out with a convertible and coupe versions. Like before, the M6 shares mechanical spec M5 which means no more V10s and the adoption of the twin-turbo V8 with 4.4L displacement paired with M DCT gearbox. The output of the powertrain is a whopping 560 horsepower or a jump of 53hp more than the older V10, and a torque of 501 lb-ft while revving at just 1500 rpm.
BMW was able to deliver around 14,000 units of the V10 M6 around the globe, but the shift to a V8 and the use of the M DCT gearbox will address major criticisms about the V10 M6. The new M6 will somehow trim down the numbers in terms of fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emission. The new M6 registers a 28.5 miles per gallon mileage and spews out 232 grams of CO2 per kilometer. The numbers are still not that great from the green perspective but at least a step has been taken to improve them. The numbers are not bad for something that gives out 560 hp and gets 0 to 62 mph in just 4.2 seconds. The top speed of this beast is limited at 155 mph.
The new M6 has a hefty tag price just a bit shy of getting to six figures. The coupe has a sticker price of £ 93.795 while the Convertible goes for £98,995. The numbers still does not take into account any options you might want to avail of like ceramic brakes among others.
The front track has an additional 30mm plus its carbon roof places it over the standard BMW 6 Series units. Other subtle but definite advantage are the revised geometry of the front end, forged aluminum components of the suspension, and a re- engineered rear subframe. The dampers can also be easily configured by pressing a few buttons.
In terms of technology the BMW M6 shares a lot with is sibling the M5 like the M trimmings and HUD inside. You will also get heated seats, Merino leather, and BMW nav system. Buyers may also opt for 20 inch rims over the standard 19 inch wheels, Night Vision, and upgrade to B&O stereo.Tags: BMW, BMW 6-series, BMW M5, BMW M6, M DCT Gearbox
